The ACORN magazine runs a feature called 'Good Neighbour, Good Service' where local people nominate a deserving person who has been either a fantastic helpful neighbour or given great service in one of the local shops in our Accrington area.
This months winner does both, she is butchers wife Kathleen Paintin, who along with her husband David runs the Black Horse Food Emporium and Ye Olde Sausage shop at Oswaldtwistle Mills, Kathleen has just been awarded an OBE in the Queens birthday honours list for her sevices to charity and special needs education, something shes been involved in for more than 30 years, she combines all this with helping the family business as well, and soon Kathleen will be invited to the palace to pick up her OBE, but before that Local Accrington florist Open All Flowers presented her with the ACORN magazines award for all her good work..well done and thank you Kathleen.
