My favourite time of year has arrived and the scents of winter are filling my shop..yes I know there are many beautiful scented flowers throughout the year, but fresh spruce just does it for me..you touch  it and the scent stays with you all day long...( NOTE TO SELF, WASH HANDS MORE OFTEN !!! ) So if you need a gorgeous Door Wreath or a sumptuous Christmas Arrangement, I'm on standby hands all washed and ready to go!!!  

Whilst all was quiet and not a soul was stirring (well according to our media, thats the way the highstreet is, up and down our country..hear that tumbleweed !! ) in the rear of florists shops Santas little helpers are beavering away preparing themselves for your arrival.

 The Royal British Legion Poppy day appeal is here, and if I could just make one plea.... IF YOU ONLY BUY ONE FLOWER ALL YEAR, PLEASE  LET IT BE A POPPY, it really is that important..

It's got to be said " where are you all ? " Flower shops the length and breadth of the country are fit to burst with gorgeous Autumn Fayre (that's gorgeous flowers of the season in shop speak!!)  flower wholesalers come and go and they are the first to admit it's mighty quiet out there, fellow shops talk amongst each other (and whilst  most shy away from saying they are quiet..they will agree that  you our customers are thin on the ground)..So    

 Unaware as I was of such a week even existing, until, as is usual with my daughter, the news of the event arrived to my ears, with very few hours left to prepare for what lay ahead..

Open All Flowers wishes St. Mary's Church in Clayton Le Moors, all the very best on their Golden Jubilee 1959-2009, the church is holding a Flower Festival titled 'REFLECTIONS'  from Saturday, 26th September through to Tuesday, 29th September, entry is by programme £3.00, accompanied children are free, it really will be worth a visit, refreshments will be available and your eyes will feast on the wonderful floral arrangements throughout the church
